It’s hard to compete with the setting at The Contemporary.
This 4,100-square-foot custom home sits along 200 feet of the Intracoastal Waterway in Old Palm Valley, and the water influenced so much of the way the home came together. Expansive glass and four 12-foot sliding doors open the living spaces to the backyard and make the Intracoastal views part of the home from the moment you walk inside.
The architecture is distinctly modern, with a flat roofline, clean lines and a simple material palette. Inside, details like heated floors and motorized shades add comfort without taking away from the clean look of the home.
And then there’s the backyard.
An Olympic-sized lap pool stretches alongside the home, with a fire pit, putting green, chipping area and private dock creating plenty of reasons to spend time outside. With the Intracoastal just beyond it, the entire backyard feels like an extension of the house.
There’s also a lot happening behind the finishes that you would never know from looking at the completed home. The Contemporary was built using ICF walls, poured-in-place concrete and structural steel — an impressive structural system that gives the home the strength and longevity to match its design.
This was a fun one for our team to watch come together, especially because it’s so different from a traditional coastal home.
